This November, Google announced further additions to the Page Experience update rolled out during the summer this year. The update was previously released for mobiles and in February 2022, the Page Experience ranking is coming to desktop which is scheduled to be completed by the following month.
What is the Page Experience Update?
In Google terms,
‘Page experience is a set of signals that measure how users perceive the experience of interacting with a web page beyond its pure information value.’
In other words, they are looking for how usable your website is.
What does this mean for my website?
To achieve a good page experience ranking, you’ll need to provide good user experience. This means focusing on both the look and feel of your website.
Do your layouts flow well on all devices? Are the pages easy to navigate around? Does your website have a fast-loading time? Are you keeping your security up-to-date with SSL?
How can I stay ahead?
There are a variety of ways you can keep your website updated alongside this core update. The simple solution would be to start with an analysis of your current UI/UX, the user activity and design.
